Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:4-6.

Verse 5, "And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net."

There is a good chance you have read about this miracle at some point.  It should never get old to read about miracles in God's Word.  What spoke to my heart this morning was the way in which Simon referred to the Lord Jesus.  Simon called Him, "Master".  This particular Greek word (epistata) is only used in Luke's gospel.  The word can be translated into several other words such as  “commander,” “leader,” or perhaps even “boss.”  Simon was saying he would do whatever the Lord Jesus told him to do.

Are we willing to call Jesus by the same title?  Are we willing to follow whatever He tells us to do?  Miracles are available every day.  Jesus can fill your boat with fish today.  Jesus can do the impossible.  The miracle in our text followed Simon's obedience.  While times and seasons have changed, God still blesses obedience.  Our goal is not to see a miracle.  Our goal is to be faithful and obedient to our miracle working Master.  God is faithful.
