Our Scripture reading today is Luke 1:26-29.
Verse 28, "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women."
This would have been quite the meeting for Mary. No doubt, a one on one meeting with an angel is a memorable one. The message Mary received was also quite encouraging. She was highly favoured, the Lord was with her and she was blessed. Could it possibly get any better? If you read ahead, you will find out that it did get even better.
As we read what the angel told Mary, we can also apply the angel's message to our lives. We are highly favoured as Mary was (Ephesians 1:6, "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.), the Lord is with us (Matthew 28:20, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.), and we are blessed (Ephesians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:).
