Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 4:17, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"
As I have been meditating on this verse in recent days, the word that stands out to me is
"moment". Challenging times are not new to the child of God, but they will only last
for a moment. The blessings that they bring will last for eternity. Many have endured
great pain physically and emotionally. Thankfully, it is only for a moment compared to
the glory that it provides our loving heavenly Father. “Affliction is not something to be endured in order
to reach glory. It is the very process which creates the glory. Through travail comes birth.” (Morgan)
