Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 25:16, " Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it."
I am reminded of a couple statements, "You can get too much of a good thing."   The other statement is, "Get all you can and can all you get."  In both of these, we learn what the Proverbs is teaching us.  God has provided all that we need for each and every day.  We are to be thankful and not greedy.  He has promised to supply all of our need not our greed.  Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
The honey and riches we have been provided are not to keep stacking them up.  They are to meet our needs as well as helping to meet the needs of others.  Even as adults, we can and should be continuously sharing with those around us.  It is a lesson we teach our children, but one we need to be following as well.  Luke 6:38, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
