Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:49, "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
While it was definitely a very difficult time for the followers of Jesus Christ and especially His disciples. There was something special that was about to take place. The Lord Jesus promises the power of God will be given to them in a unique way. He was referring to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was limited to being in one place at a time when He was on the earth. The Holy Spirit would come and live in every born again believer.
As we go about our day, let us remember that we have God with us in the presence of the Holy Spirit. If we are not sure what decision to make, the Holy Spirit is our guide. If we are feeling discouraged, the Holy Spirit is our comforter. If we are fearing something or someone, the Holy Spirit is our power and peace. If we do not know what to pray, the Holy Spirit will pray for us. The Holy Spirit is all of this and much more!
