Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 9:6-7.
Verse 6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Peace is something that has been sought for down through every generation. People have spent thousands and thousands of dollars to try and have peace in their life. As soon as sin entered into the world so did worry and fret. The devil continues today to cause strife and worry throughout the entire world. He is the prince of fear.
We know from the Word of God that true peace only comes through Jesus Christ. The verse we are highlighting today reminds us that He is the Prince of Peace. Ephesians 2:14, "For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us." As a follower of Jesus Christ, there is no need to fear or worry about anything. I realize this is easier said than done, but we must bring our attention back to the Scriptures...Jesus Christ "IS our PEACE."
