Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 25:4, "For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a
strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the
blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall."
There are various descriptions in this one verse of what God provides for us. When these
time come into our life, we should meditate on verses like this one. God has been for the
people in Isaiah's day and He will be for us today. God is unchanging from generation to
generation. I'm also reminded of the words to the hymn, A Shelter in the Time of Storm.
The Lord's our rock, in Him we hide,
A shelter in the time of storm;
Secure whatever ill betide,
A shelter in the time of storm.
Mighty Rock in a weary land,
Cooling shade on the burning sand,
Faithful guide for the pilgrim band-
A shelter in the time of storm.
