Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 2:1-4.

Verse 4, "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:"

The Apostle Paul was not trying to convince or persuade people.  He was not a salesman, but he was an ambassador.  Paul recognized his own words would only make a difference for the temporal.  It was when he spoke with the power of the Holy Spirit that there would be eternal value.

It is impossible for us to know who we may come into contact with on a daily basis.  In preparation for these "meetings", we need to seek the wisdom and power of God.  The power we need is available for the asking and receiving.  Acts 4:31, "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."
