Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:33-35.
Verse 35, "But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
The Lord Jesus gives a slight hint here that He was not going to be the conqueror the people wanted Him to be.  He lets them know He would be taken away.  We are living in the days Jesus was referring to in this passage of Scripture.  The bridegroom is not with us in person.  As the LORD leads, prayer and fasting should be a part of our life.
Matthew 17:21, "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."
Mark 9:29, "And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting."
James 5:16, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
I Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."
Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
Make today a day of fervent prayer!
