Our Scripture reading today is Luke 22:46, "And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray,
lest ye enter into temptation."

This is the second time Jesus has found His disciple asleep when they should have been
praying. Jesus knew what was coming in His life and theirs. Prayer was greatly needed
to prepare. Unfortunately, they did not pray for long when their weariness overcame them.
The disciples should have been praying for themselves as well as their brethren.

While we are not going through the exact situation the disciples were, the need for prayer
is still great. Prayer is a time of humbling ourselves before God and seeking His
provision in various ways. We desperately need God to work in our lives. We need His
power to enable us to overcome the wiles of the devil. Prayer should be done with and
on purpose. God desires His children to ask, seek, and knock. Talk to Him today!
