Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 86:2, "Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God,
save thy servant that trusteth in thee."

David knew all to well that he was in need of God's protection. His was public
enemy number one. Psalm 86:14, "O God, the proud are risen against me, and the
assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them."
David identifies with God's holiness and reminds God that he is His servant. David had no other
place or one to put his trust in than God.

We are blessed to be able to turn to the same God as mentioned in this chapter.
He is the eternal One. He can still be trusted to do what is best for us. It would
behoove us to come to Him with the same servant's heart as David did. God is
still preserving His children.
