Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 3:10-13.
Verse 13, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"
The law of God reveals to us that we are sinners and that we cannot keep the entire law.  Even if someone could obey most of the law, James 2:10 tells us, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."  In our passage today, Paul gives us the key to being freed from the law and its curse.  Faith in the the Lord Jesus and His redemption provided by way of the cross is our ONLY hope.
As we think of redemption, we need to be reminded that it is not just a rescue.  Redemption involves a purchase or a buying back.  The law is bondage and Jesus Christ is freedom.  "Redemption came from the practices of ancient warfare. After a battle the victors would often capture some of the defeated. Among the defeated, the poorer ones would usually be sold as slaves, but the wealthy and important men, the men who mattered in their own country, were held to ransom. When the people in their homeland had raised the required price, they would pay it to the victors and the captives would be set free. The process was called redemption, and the price was called the ransom."
Let us be thankful for the price that was paid so we could be free from the curse of the law.  Jesus paid it ALL!  PRAISE HIM!
