Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 1:15-17.
Verse 16, "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:"
The Lord Jesus Christ is Who Paul is referring to in this passage of Scripture.  Our Saviour is all powerful (omnipotent), all knowing (omniscient), and every where (omnipresent).  He is our creator and redeemer.  He is our Great Shepherd and the friend that is closer than a brother.  He is almighty!
Taking all this into consideration, I would like to focus on the last three words of the verse, "and for him".  We sinners were created for Him.  We sinners are loved by Him.  Jesus Christ died for sinners like you and me.  Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  Our purpose of existence is bring Him honour and glory.  The Gospel makes it possible for us to fulfill this purpose.  Everything we need has been provided by our loving God in order to have a relationship and fellowship with Him.  Rejoice!
