Our Scripture reading today is Romans 12:1-2. (On March 1, I accidentally turned to May 1 and we read May 1's reading then. So, we are doing March 1 today.)
Verse 2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
The impact of consistently renewing our mind isn't truly felt until we stop renewing our mind.  God's Word is the key component in the renewing process.  God's Word must be the foundation for how we live our lives.  It has fresh renewing power every morning.  My feelings are to be set aside as I seek to renew my mind.  Feelings are a roller coaster, but God's Word never changes.
A Christian that is consistently renewing his or her mind will avoid being conformed to this world.  The world's philosophy of living and the truth of God's Word are like water and oil.  They do NOT mix.  One is dark and the other is Light.  The more importance and authority we yield to the Word of God, the less the world will have.  Following the world will cloud our vision, but God's Word will always lead us to know and follow God's will.  The work of God is taking place from the inside out as we renew our mind through His Word.
