Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 12:15, "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the
grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;"
We must guard against bitterness growing root in our hearts. It will not only impact our
lives, but every one else we come into contact with. Bitterness destroys the container
it is kept in and then it will seek to destroy anyone near that container. The cure for
bitterness is forgiveness. Bitterness is enslaving, but there is freedom in forgiveness.
When we are reminded of the grace of God that has been extended to us, we ought to
be willing to extend grace to those who have offended or wronged us.
