Our Scripture reading today is Ezra 8:22, "For I was ashamed to require of the king a band
of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken
unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his
power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him."
Whenever we spend time in the Word of God, we are seeking Him in some way.
The Bible is filled with life helps. A Christian who neglects the Bible, is going to
live a weak and fruitless life. God's goal for all of His children is to bear fruit
for His glory. John 15:8, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit;
so shall ye be my disciples." What does your spiritual fruit basket look
like? Is there anything in it?
It is Sunday. The place for every Christian to be on Sunday is a local Bible
preaching church. By faithfully attending a church like this, you are seeking
God and being obedient to God. The devil has deceived many a Christian to
think they do not need church any more. What a sad commentary this is and
especially to those who have children that are following their lead. Sunday is
the Lord's Day! It would behoove you to be in His house for the 10:30am
service and 6pm service. One service a Sunday is not enough. We need
to gather together "so much the MORE" and not less.
