Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 6:12, "That ye be not slothful, but followers of
them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."

We are on a journey that many have travelled before us. God's children today are simply
walking after their distant spiritually relatives. It should be our goal to have greater
faith and patience as we navigate our own spiritual path. The writer of Hebrews lays
down the law when he challenges us to not be slothful. I found this statement online
regarding being slothful -  "it implies a temperamental inability to act promptly or speedily when
action or speed is called for". A one word definition of slothful is
lazy. We cannot allow the challenges of life to make us lazy in our walk with God.
What is needed in today's Christian is a determination to live for God in faith and
patience regardless of the circumstances surrounding us.

It is time for God's people to stop making excuses and put to practice what we have
learned from God's Word. It is time for a revival of faithfulness to the Word of God
and the house of God. Why do we treat Sunday like a catholic? Why do we come to
only one service and think we've done our spiritual duty? Re-read the verse of the day
and make a decision to be faithful for the glory of God!!
