Our Scripture reading today is John 15:26, "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will
send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,
he shall testify of me:"
The Holy Spirit is given three titles in this verse - Comforter, Spirit of truth, and
testifier. He faithfully fulfills these descriptions in the life of the believer. We
desperately need Him in our lives every day. He becomes a part of us the moment
a sinner turns to Jesus Christ for salvation.
We know Who Jesus is by the witness of the Holy Spirit. There will be a need for comfort at
a moment we least expected it. God's Spirit is right with us ready to meet that need. The author of the
Word of God is indwelling us and will guide us in the truth.
God's children are promised His presence in the person of the Holy Spirit.
"The Comforter has come!"
