Today’s Scripture reading is Isaiah 58:9-11.
Verse 9, "Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer"
My thoughts immediately went to God's telephone number - Jeremiah 33:3, "Call unto me, and will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."  I guess Isaiah 58:9 is God's cell phone number. :)
The more we call, the more He will answer.  His answers are needed for our daily direction.  The older I get, the more I realize without His direction, I am like a ship without an anchor.  It is very easy to allow life's circumstances to direct us.  We need to be faithfully calling on the Lord before, during, and after the trials of life.  The best news about our Heavenly Father is that His telephone line is never busy.  Our Heavenly Father is always ready to answer.  In addition to this, as Christians, we have the privilege of calling His direct line.  He doesn't have a secretary taking messages for Him.  Praise God!
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."  Hebrews 4:16
