Our Scripture reading today is Exodus 32:25-26.
Verse 26, "Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him."
The question Moses asks could and should be asked in every generation.  It made its way into a hymn when Frances Havergal wrote, "Who is On the Lord's Side? in 1877.  The reason Moses asked this question can be found in the previous verses of this chapter.  It did not take the children of Israel long to start worshipping a false god.  The Creator God had parted the Red Sea and now they are dancing around a golden calf.  What a sad sight when Moses came down off of the mount.
It does not take 20/20 vision to see that the same sin can be found in our generation as well.  While it may not be a golden calf, far too many Christians have turned to worship the world and its allurements.  God has delivered us from the world and we owe Him our love and devotion.  He is our Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer and Best Friend.  He has never failed us and He never will.  In order to be on the Lord's side, it will take a decision.  We must decide almost every day to be on the Lord's side.  I like what Joshua said in Joshua 24:15, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Are you on the Lord's side?
