Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 2:5-8.
Verse 5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"
The battle ground for believers continues to be the mind. While our eternal destination is secure, our enemy continues to attack. He is seeking to kill and destroy our influence for the cause of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul is about to describe what is in the mind of Jesus. Before doing so, he admonishes the Philippian believers and all believers today to choose wisely. The decision is ours to make whether or not we will have the mind of Christ. It is imperative that we let it be so. 1 Corinthians 2:16, "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."
A believer who is walking through life with the mind of Christ will constantly be seeking for the will of the Father to be accomplished in his or her life. Just as the Saviour, there will be a desire to please Him above all others. John 8:29, "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him." A wise choice every day is to let the mind of Christ be in you.
