Our Scripture reading today is John 9:4, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:
the night cometh, when no man can work."
The Lord Jesus was sent to do a specific work for His Father. There was also a time
limit to how long He would be on this earth. He gives us a perfect example to follow.
“A well-earned title to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the worker, the chief worker, and the example
to all workers.” (Spurgeon)
You only have a certain amount of time to labour for the Lord. God has already set your appointment
with either death or His Son's return. As followers of Jesus Christ, our days should be spent in the will of God. This allows us to be bringing Him glory and laying up treasure in Heaven. Do you actively serve the Lord? If not, what are you waiting for?
