Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 1:18, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
How can one activity or action mean something entirely different to two people in the
same audience? The difference is in their view of God. One has a very low view of
God or does not even believe He exists. One has a high view of God and realizes
he needs what God has provided in order to be saved. Bible preaching to one is a waste
of time. Bible preaching to another is spiritual fuel to keep walking in victory.
Bible reading and preaching are both vital parts of our spiritual growth. God has designed
them to be a regular occurrence in our lives. We do not eat once a week neither should
we have time in God's Word only once a week. It is a blessing and privilege to have the
Spirit of God and the Word of God. Read your Bible and pray every day and you will
grow, grow, grow.
