Our Scripture reading today is Romans 10:1, "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved."

What do you have a desire to see take place?  Desire means, "To long or hope for; to express a wish for".  The Apostle Paul had a desire for the Jewish people to recognize and believe that Jesus Christ was their only hope for salvation.  He longed for them to leave the tradition and embrace a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

As a follower of Christ, our desires should come from the Word of God and not our flesh.  God's Word teaches us where we should place our desires.  They ought to be on the eternal more than the temporal.  This does not mean we cannot have any temporal desires, but it does mean we should have more eternal than temporal.  Are you striving for only the earthly goals and desires?  God's children must seek to bring Him glory by desiring to live for and serve Him with all our might.  He is worthy!
