Our Scripture reading today is Romans 4:5, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that
justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."
Biblical salvation involves putting ones faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus
Christ. Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross. He was buried and three
days later, He arose from the grave. This is the finished work that made it possible
for every sinner to be saved. A sinner cannot work to be saved when the work has
already been done. It requires believing what God says in the Bible about how to
obtain forgiveness and eternal life. Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
