Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:1-3.
Verse 3, "And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship."
Simon's boat provided a very interesting platform and a little more space to be able to teach the people that were following Jesus.  Simon was willing to let the Lord Jesus use his vessel in the ministry.  It was just a bunch of boards nailed together, but when given to the Lord it brought about eternal value.
It may not look the same today, but I wonder what is God asking of us in order to spread the Good News to more people?  What vessel do we have that could be used for eternal value?  Could our home be used for a place to teach God's Word?  Could our vehicle be used to pick people up and bring them to church?  Simon surrendered his boat and more people heard from the greatest teacher/preacher.  What is God asking you to surrender to see the same outcome?
