Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 91:14, "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name."
God is doing the speaking at the end of Psalm 91. There are promises made that we can claim today. He gives three prerequisites for claiming these promises.
- (1.) We know God's name. It is impossible to fully understand His nature; but by his name He has made himself known, and with can become more familiar with God through His names.
- (2.) We love God. Those who rightly know Him will love Him, will place their love upon Him, will let out their love towards Him with pleasure, and will anchor their love upon Him with a resolution never to remove it.
- (3.) We call upon Him in the easy and difficult times. He is all we need!
By God's grace, we can follow this formula and begin to see more of the greatness of our God.
