Our Scripture reading today is 1 Peter 5:5-6.
Verse 6, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:"
This command might seem simple at first glance, but it is probably one of the hardest to follow through on. Our focus even after we get saved is typically to make sure that self's needs are met first. We tend to want to be noticed and have the best.
Pride is something we must plan on conquering every day. The sooner we put a plan into place, the better it will be for our spiritual growth. I remember hearing some advice that we need to have a funeral for self every day. If you have not died to self recently, start planning your service now!
John 3:30, "He must increase, but I must decrease."
