Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 31:10, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."
Proverbs 31 is what a mother of a king taught him.  Specifically, it was King Lemuel's mother who taught him what to look for in a future wife.  The list of qualities begin in verse 10 and go all the way to the end of the chapter.  In fact, the entire Hebrew alphabet is used at the beginning of each verse.  This would have helped with memorization and arranging of thoughts.  We find this type of arrangement can also be found in numerous Psalms and in Lamentations 4.
What we have is a guide for men and women.  For women, this should be the goal in their daily lives as they seek to walk with and please the LORD.  The word, virtuous, means of strength...moral courage.  Proverbs 12:4, "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones."
The goal of every woman ought to be God and His will.  For man, this should be the way he prays for his future wife or the wife of his children and grandchildren.  It is never too soon to pray this prayer.  In addition, men can pray that they too would be walking in the will of God in order to be more in tune with a woman of such Godly character as described in this passage.
