Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 1:4, "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:"

 
What a glorious promise we find in Paul's writing to the church at Galatia. It is also for
us to claim today. Jesus Christ made it possible for all of God's children to not only
have a place in Heaven, but also to have daily victory over this present world that we
live in.  “Throughout the epistle Paul points the Galatians to the centrality of the cross. He cannot
wait to make this plain, and we find a reference to it in his very first sentence.” (Morris)
  
The power of the shed blood of the Lamb paves the way for us to withstand
temptation and walk in God's perfect will. It is our responsibility to claim this promise.
