Today's Scripture reading is Philippians 4:16-18
Verse 18 - "...a sacrifice acceptable..."
Within the last couple weeks, there has been an emphasis placed on the sacrificial death of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  We cannot overemphasize this sacrifice.  In our text, the Apostle Paul is referring to a gift that the church at Philippi sent him.  He describes it as a sacrifice.  What do we consider to be a sacrifice?  One definition of sacrifice is to surrender or give up.  What might God be asking of us to sacrifice?  Is there a lack of surrender to Him?  In other words, does someone or something hold more value in our lives than God does?  Are you living your life for self or for God?

Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

Please join with me making this hymn your prayer today:

I Surrender All by Israel Houghton

All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldly pleasures all forsaken
Take me Jesus take me now
I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Saviour
I surrender all
All to Jesus I surrender
Make me Saviour wholly Thine
Let me feel the Holy Spirit
Truly know that Thou art mine
All to Jesus I surrender
Lord I give myself to Thee
Fill me with Thy love and power
Let Thy blessings fall on me
All to Jesus I surrender
Now I feel the sacred flame
Oh the joy of full salvation
Glory glory to His name
