Our Scripture reading today is Mark 16:4-6.

Verse 6, "And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him."

Both Marys were a little nervous and even afraid when they saw the angel and that Jesus' body was not in the tomb.  I am sure this was the last thing they thought they would see.  The encouraging message of the angel is to remain our message for today and everyday:  "He is risen; He is not here..."

We have every reason to be confident in the Lord Jesus.  He is as much alive today as He was in the days of His resurrection.  The tomb of Christ is still empty!  Jesus Christ lives today to make intercession for every child of God.  His death, burial, and resurrection are still providing salvation full and free to all who by faith ask Him for it.  Salvation will always come by grace through faith.  Salvation was and is made possible because of the angel's message on that Sunday morning when the Marys made their way to the tomb.
