Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 5:11-12.
Verse 12, "For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield."
Every morning represents a new day to experience the favour of our God.  The Psalmist is praying these words to the LORD.  There is a promise to those who are saved and in the family of God.  They will be blessed, favoured, and surrounded by God.  I am not sure it can get any better.   We are shielded and sheltered by Omnipotent One.  Psalm 3:3, "But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head."
"When Martin Luther was on his way to face a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church to answer for what they said were his heretical teachings, one of the Cardinal's servants taunted him saying, 'Where will you find shelter if your patron, the Elector of Saxony, should desert you?' Luther answered, 'Under the shelter of heaven'."
We, too, can pray through this Psalm.  As a child of God, it is ours for the claiming!
