Our Scripture reading today is Luke 7:36-39.

Verses 37-38, "And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,  And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed  them with the ointment."

We can assume that this woman had a sinful reputation.  More then likely everyone in this Pharisees house knew her and what she participated in as a sinner.  We are obviously all sinners in need of a Saviour.  Can you imagine if your sins were known by the people of your church and community?  Her reputation did not prevent her from entering into this home.  She showed great courage and determination.  There was an intense desire for her to show Jesus how much she loved Him.  This was a personal deed.

At what lengths would you go to show your Saviour how much you love Him?  He showed us an example to follow when He laid down His life to pay the penalty of our sin.  In what way or ways do you personally serve the LORD?  I find it alarming at how many people who claim to be born again Christians and yet have no time for serving their Saviour.  How is this possible?  I am thankful for the example of this unnamed sinner who expressed her love for the LORD regardless of what some may have thought.  We need to use what time we have to bring glory and honour to our King!
