Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 3:1-7.
Verse 5, "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
Our relationship with the Word of God is an indication if we have a form of godliness or really have the power of God on our lives.  The Bible should be the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.  What does this mean?  The Scriptures should be our source of what we believe and then what we do.  It is very clear that the way "Christian" people live their lives continues to change.
One way that stands out to me is the how the church is treated.  How can someone who says they are a Christian have nothing to do with a Bible preaching church?  How can they completely ignore that Jesus Christ died for?  Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"  The last couple of years have made this more and more prevalent.  We read in 1 Timothy 3:15, "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."
By God's grace, we must recognize the importance of our relationship with His Word and His Church.  If you are reading this today and your involvement at "your church" has decreased, it is time to confess that to the Lord and be faithful to His Word and His church!
