Today's Scripture reading is Psalm 141:1-5.

Verse 3 - "Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips."

How many times have we said something and almost immediately realized we should not have said it or it did not come our right?  Let's just say, don't try and count.  This prayer of David should probably be added to our daily prayer list.  I have no doubt that we all need Divine help in using our tongue to bring glory to God and be an encouragement to those around us.  Charles Spurgeon put it this way, "When Jehovah sets the watch the city is well guarded: when the Lord becomes the guard of our mouth the whole man is well garrisoned."  The small member of our body can do much harm, but it can also bring much hope and joy!
