Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:10-12.
Verse 10, "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."
The good news the angels proclaimed to the shepherds in Luke 2 is the same good news we are to be proclaiming today...the Saviour is born and His name is Jesus Christ! The angels delivered a message of peace and we are commissioned to do the same. The Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace. As Christians, we have been granted peace with God and the peace of God. Both of these are made possible by the sacrificial death of the Son of God. Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"
God used the angel's voice in Luke 2 and He desires to use our voice today. There are numerous people in our lives who need to hear the message of peace and hope. God will give us the courage and compassion needed to speak the truth in love. I am praying this will be the greatest month of evangelism in the 20 year history of Anchor Baptist Church.
