Our Scripture reading today is Acts 20:28-30.
Verse 29, "For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock."
The Apostle Paul is referring to these wolves entering into the church.  They would cause great harm to the family of God which in turn would do great harm to the cause of Jesus Christ.  We are not told how Paul knew, but he made it clear that he knew this was going to take place.  Wolves were going to enter into the church with the goal of disrupting and destroying the work of the LORD.
While the look of the church has changed, this part has remained the same.  It is imperative that we be on guard against wolves who attempt to do the same thing today that they were doing in Paul's day.  Pastor and people alike need to pray for God's protection of the flock and be aware of these potential threats to the church.  Remember, they never come into the church announcing they are wolves.  Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
Have a good day!
