Our Scripture reading today is 2 Thessalonians 3:7-9.

Verse 9, "Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us."

The Apostle Paul set an example that each one of us should also be setting today.  He was a diligent and hard worker.  He made sure the people in Thessalonica knew he was not preaching the Gospel for personal gain.  It was the high calling God had placed on his life and he was being obedient to that calling.  His godly character was meant to be an example the people could follow.

As Christians, our goal should be to bring honour and glory to God no matter what we are doing.  This would include our day to day employment as well.  Are we known for being a diligent, hard working employee?  Are we on time?  Do we have a good when corrected?  If we are going to speak of Jesus Christ to our co-workers, it would be a good idea to back up that witness with a good spirit while at work.  The people of God ought to be the best employees your company has on the payroll.  1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
