Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
These two verses have been used time and time again when someone is met with an unexpected change of direction in life.  We were comfortably walking down the path of life in the will of God and then out of nowhere a brick wall appeared.  In some cases, we did not see the wall unitl it was too late.  (A side note...running or walking into a brick wall can be hazardous to one's health.)
When these changes come into our lives and they will come,  our anchor must remain in the promises of the Word of God.  His Word never changes or fails.  We can put our complete and total dependence on Him knowing His way for us is good.  It might not appear good in the moment, but He is always working things together with the end result being something good. See Romans 8:28
We do not need to fully understand the brick wall now, but we will understand it better by and by.  God's will is always best.
