Our Scripture reading today is 2 Chronicles 16:12-14.
Verse 12, "...yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians."
Is it wrong to go to the doctor?  Should we stop taking any and all medication?  The answer to both of these questions is NO.  God's Word is not telling us to avoid doctors and medication.  However, God's Word is emphasizing how important it is to seek for God's healing touch when we are ill.  The sad part of this verse is the fact that King Asa did not even seek the One Who created him for the help he needed.   It would appear Asa's confidence and trust were in man and not in God.  Do you find yourself calling the doctor before you call Heaven?  I repeat, doctors are there to help, and they do. The help they provide is given to them by God as well.  When you start to feel ill, talk to God first.  When you are discouraged, talk to God first.  Our God has all the answers we need!
