Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 20:6, "Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?"
There will always be plenty of people who qualify for the first part of this verse.  They are very good at tooting their own horn.  We have all met people who are really good at telling us how really good they are at a certain task.  In fact, every one of us at times look really good in our own eyes.  Proverbs 16:2, "All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits."
While one search does not take very long, it would seem the second half of the verse indicates a more lengthy investigation.  Where are all the faithful Christians?  Where are all the faithful men and women?  I have found in my own life over the years that faithfulness cannot be taught.  Faithfulness is a decision we make to be who God wants us to be.  Faithfulness is a decision we make to do what God wants us to do.  This decision is made only by the grace of God.  I cannot will myself to be faithful, but I can be faithful by the grace of God.
1 Corinthians 4:2, "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."
Luke 16:10, "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much."
There are many things that we may feel unqualified to do.  There is plenty of room in the faithfulness line!  May we strive to be found...FAITHFUL!
