Our Scripture reading today is Acts 1:14, "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."
Is there a better verse for us to read the morning of our church-wide prayer meeting? The early church spent time meeting together for prayer. They met in one accord. This means they agreed together regarding what they were going to bring to the Father in prayer.
There is also a need for private prayer. It should happen daily, but it can also happen throughout the day. 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing." The church should also have times when we pray together. We need God's leading in our personal life as well as our church life. We need to be unified for the cause of glorifying God and reaching people with the Gospel.
See you tonight at 6:30!
