Our Scripture reading today is Luke 6:6-7, "And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was  withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him."
The religious elite of the day were at the synagogue looking to find fault in the one they should have been promoting and following.  However, this was not the case at all.  The scribes and Pharisees were only interested in themselves and the power that religion brought to them.
As we have mentioned numerous times this year, the Word of God is a living book.  When we are reading the same verses, the Holy Spirit can use it to speak to us in different ways. The application God spoke to me about today is to come to church with a right attitude.  Come to church ready to show God's love to someone.  Come to church ready to receive something from the Word of God.  I should leave my critical spirit at home.  Better yet, ask God to deliver us from a critical spirit.  As we come to church whenever the doors are open, let us come expecting God to do a great work!
