Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 1:3-6.
Verse 6, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
The work of salvation and sanctification cannot be performed by us no matter how hard we try.  Our salvation and sanctification are by His grace. Christ and Christ alone has the power to save and sanctify.  This truth is one we must repeatedly be reminded of.  We cannot live the Christian life apart from the Lord Jesus working in and through us.
Our confidence is not placed in what we know but in Who we know.  We can rest assured knowing He will fulfill all that He has promised.  “Where is there an instance of God’s beginning any work and leaving it incomplete?  Show me for once a world abandoned and thrown aside half formed; show me a universe cast off from the Great Potter’s wheel, with the design in outline, the clay half hardened, and the form unshapely from incompleteness.”  Spurgeon
We can trust the Potter with our clay!
