Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 1:10, "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."

There is no question that sin is enticing.  I am not sure who said it first, but it is true that misery loves company.  These words of wisdom are to be passed down by every parent to their children.  It is to be something the children witness in the life of the parent as well as from the lips of the parent.  We desperately need to adhere to the clear and concise counsel of this verse of Scripture.

Temptation will come from the world, the flesh and the devil.  Enticement is going to be waiting around the corner for all of God's children.  What I would advise is making sure that our friends are not people who love to sin.  The key is that we do not have to consent.  The word, consent, means to give approval.  It is possible to say "NO" to temptation!  We do not have to give our approval.  God's Spirit is ready and able to lead us to victory.
