Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 12:15, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise."
Notice carefully who Solomon says is wise. He says that those who follow through on the counsel they are given are wise. We can conclude with certainty there is no way to hearken to counsel we don't ask for. It is foolish to think we can see everything needed to make every decision. God has given us counsellors. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have the Spirit of God and the Word of God to guide us in making wise decisions. In addition, if we are connected to a local church, God has provided a pastor or pastors to give us Godly counsel. It is always helpful to get another set of eyes to look at the way we are heading.
Proverbs 11:14, "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety."
Proverbs 24:6, "For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety."
