Our Scripture reading today is Luke 10:15-16.
Verse 16, "He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me."
These seventy disciples were sent out to be the voice of the Lord Jesus.  They were His representatives which meant they were also the Father's representatives.  Knowing this should have encouraged them when not everyone received them or their message.  It was a privilege enough just to speak on the behalf of the Father and the Son.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we have the very same opportunity every day.  We are called to deliver His message not ours.  Whether it be rejection or praise it must not be held on to too tightly.  The rejection is not because of me; neither is the praise because of me.  I once heard it said that we should not take compliments or criticisms too seriously.  I do, however, believe they are both important and have their place.  My concern as I speak for Jesus is not whether or not someone receives the message.  My prayer is that I would represent Jesus properly and He would receive all the glory.
