Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 3:20-21.
Verse 20, "For our conversation is in heaven; whom whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ."
The word conversation is not referring to talking with someone. It is actually reminding us that our eternal dwelling place is in Heaven. This old, sinful world is not our final home. We are simply passing through as pilgrims. By the way, this truth ought to bring great peace and joy to our heart. Whatever is happening now is only temporary. This is not to say that everything about our life is negative or difficult. There is coming a day when we will see our Saviour face to face. We will spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
While we wait, we are to be looking. While we are looking, we are to be serving. There is a preparation that comes along with waiting. When you have not seen someone for some length of time and a meeting has been scheduled; there is a time of preparation. I have not seen Jesus Christ one time, but I know a meeting with Him is inevitable. Each day, I am one day closer to this meeting. I am looking and longing for it. I am to be preparing by seeking to be as close to Him as I possibly can while still in this old, sinful world. Soon and very soon, our body will be like His glorious body! Praise God!!
