Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:28-30.

Verse 28, "Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;"

Everything was going along as "normal" in cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  I would think the day before they were destroyed, it was business as usual.  Everyone went to work or school at their normal times.  Some people went to the market to buy food for the day.  Everything would change in 24 hours.

The same can be said about the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The day before will be a "normal" day of buying and selling.  It will be a "normal" day of visiting with friends or having a meal together.  Everything will change in 24 hours.  It will obviously change quicker than 24 hours, but this for comparison from one day to the next.  I am thankful for the salvation of the Lord Jesus that assures those who have received His salvation by faith that they will be caught up in the clouds to meet Jesus.  1 Thessalonians 4:17, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
